Eldra Patrick “El” DeBarge (born June 4, 1961) is an American R&B and pop music falsetto singer and was the focal point and lead singer of the family group DeBarge throughout the early to mid-1980s. As a solo artist, he is best known for the hits “Who’s Johnny” and “Love Always” and for his collaborations with Tone Loc, Quincy Jones, Fourplay and DJ Quik.
Cindy Lauper – I Drove All Night
Cynthia Ann Stephanie “Cyndi” Lauper (born June 22, 1953) is an American singer-songwriter and actress. She achieved success in the mid-1980s with the release of the album She’s So Unusual and became the first female singer to have four top-five singles released from one album. Lauper has released 11 albums and over 40 singles, and as of 2008 had sold more than 25 million records worldwide.
Buggles – Video Killed The Radio Star
The Buggles were an English New Wave band consisting of Trevor Horn (vocals, bass guitar, guitar) and Geoff Downes (keyboards, drums, percussion). They are mostly remembered for their 1979 debut single “Video Killed the Radio Star” that was #1 on the singles chart in 16 different countries. Its music video was the first to be shown on MTV in North America at 00:01 on 1 August 1981.
